About the role
Dillons, now part of the Kroger family, seeks a florist to design and merchandise floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. The ideal candidate will also provide customer services and demonstrate the company's core values.
Responsibilities
- Design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders.
- Greet customers, offer assistance, take and fill orders.
- Package orders cheerfully, effectively, safely and efficiently.
- Keep the department area clean and free from clutter.
- Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Maintain customer records and files properly.
- Absorb and assist customers in location and selecting items.
- Handle telephone calls and Florist Transworld Delivery orders promptly and courteously.
- Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
- Provide good customer and employee relations.
- Able to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
- Make a neat, clean impression on customers.
- Promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously and professionally interact with customers and associates.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in the area of maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years full-time retail design experience or six years part-time retail design experience.
- Florist Transworld Delivery certification required.
- Floral Design School equals six months full-time retail design experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude for filling customer needs, and designing floral arrangements.
- Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
- Able to calmly, courteously and tactfully handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
