About the role

This position is responsible for providing personal care and delegated nursing services designed to maintain the clients' physical and emotional wellbeing. The position will involve working at multiple locations in the region (regions to be determined or changed at employers' discretion).

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist the resident with personal cares as identified in the assignment sheet/client care plan.
  • Assisting the residents in the use of the commode, urinal, and toilet and with adult incontinence products as assigned.
  • Ambulation and transfers, including proper use of a transfer belt and assistive devices and proper body mechanics to avoid injury.
  • Assisting with the use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
  • Making medication reminders, assistance or administration as delegated by RN.
  • Taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as instructed. Reporting changes or concerns to RN.
  • Notifying RN of any complaints or concerns raised by the resident, residents family member, or representative.
  • Helping each resident to reach and maintain their highest level of performance and independence. Promoting residents independence, not dependence, by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  • Establishing rapport with residents, leading resident in activities as assigned and providing socialization and companionship to residents while performing assigned tasks.
  • Aiding with treatments as delegated the Register Nurse according to the client's individualized care plan or with therapy tasks as assigned by a licensed health professional.
  • Observing resident and reporting to the LPN or RN changes in the residents physical and emotional condition, such as change in attitude, appearance, loss of appetite, weight, etc.
  • Documenting services provided accurately and consistently with agency policies and completing all required paperwork in a timely and legible manner.
  • Following agency policies regarding safety rules and requirements and reporting any issues or concerns about your safety or any injuries immediately to the LPN or RN.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Caregiver in a Senior Living or similar environment (CNA/NAR/RA/HHA)
  • CNA preferred, but not required
  • Must have reliable transportation and availability to travel to ALL locations within North Metro or South Metro group of Suite Living Senior Care locations - this is an ABSOLUTE MUST.
