About the Role
Hospice Volunteers play a vital role within the hospice team, ranging from engagement of patients and families to clerical and office support. Volunteers have a natural desire for caring and providing support to patients and their families during difficult journeys. Volunteering can take many forms, such as one-on-one visits with patients and families or helping in the office to support nursing and care staff.
Volunteers describe their work as satisfying and emotionally enriching, while families describe them as a gift in their lives at the time of need.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients and families to provide comfort and support
- Assist with clerical and office support tasks
- Participate in one-on-one visits with patients and their families
- Support nursing and care staff as needed
Requirements
- Complete a criminal background check (including fingerprints)
- Pass a drug test
- Complete a TB test
- Attend Volunteer Orientation (in-person or online)
