Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Flight Hours Services Repair Manager (Contract) to join our Customer Service Repair department based in Miami, FL.

About the role

You will be the main point of contact for the operations desk to manage Flight Hours Services (FHS) customers' critical situations, involving Repair Suppliers. The Repair Manager ensures Suppliers deliver on time, cost, and quality. Responsibilities include addressing non-performance, visiting suppliers, developing relationships, and challenging supplier organizations when not delivering. You will steer activity ramp-up and coordinate with other Airbus entities.

The Customer Support team provides aircraft operations support throughout the aircraft's operational life, coordinating and monitoring all services customized to meet customer needs to ensure a positive customer relationship.

Working environment

The Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami provides flight and maintenance crew training for Airbus airline customers, primarily in the Americas. The 110,000-square-foot complex trains over 2,000 cadets annually using six full-flight simulators, computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door and slide trainers for the A320, A330, A340, and A350 XWB aircraft families.

Miami also hosts the Airbus Latin America headquarters, where a team of 60 employees supports sales, marketing, contracts, customer support, and communications for commercial aircraft, helicopters, and space & defense divisions in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Cost (25%): Challenge and validate commercial quotations in line with procurement guidelines (flat rate, PBH, Time & material). Contribute to achieving global FHS Repair cost targets.
  • Lead Time (25%): Ensure suppliers deliver and repair parts on time according to contractual obligations. Identify root causes of issues and initiate and follow up on corrective actions, including at supplier facilities.
  • Quality (25%): Organize regular operational meetings with repair shops to address open issues, repair status, and data reconciliation. Ensure suppliers respect technical standards (SB, upgrades, etc.), work scope (minor, major repair, etc.), and certification (EASA, FAA, CAAS, etc.).
  • Continuous Improvement (15%): Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving within Repair Operations. Work closely with the method and tool team to guarantee data quality in the system. Provide precise information on parts status and statistics of operational events to stakeholders. Monitor and mentor subcontractors supporting daily administrative tasks.
  • Additional Responsibilities (10%): Other duties as assigned. Travel to visit suppliers 3–5 times per year (5% of activity).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Aerospace, or equivalent (required). Master’s degree (preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in the aviation or supply chain industry.
  • Experience in supply chain and supplier operational management.
  • Supply chain expertise, negotiation skills, results-oriented mindset, and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work with short deadlines in a fast-changing environment.
  • Team spirit, leadership, and strong communication skills.
  • Technical background to challenge quotations using the CMM (Component Maintenance Manual).
  • Maintenance Part 145 knowledge (preferred).
  • Fluency in English (spoken, written, influencing) (required). French or Spanish (spoken, written, influencing) (a plus).
  • Experience with Google environment (Gmail, Gslide, Gsheet) and SAP.

Physical Requirements

  • Onsite: 100% onsite (may vary based on local policy or management decision).
  • Vision: Daily ability to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Daily ability to hear conversations in person and via teleconference/phone, and to hear sounds on the production floor, including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Daily ability to speak in conversations, meetings, and communications.
  • Equipment Operation: Daily ability to operate personal computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and related office equipment, as well as electronic identification cards for building access.
  • Carrying: Monthly ability to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
  • Lifting: Monthly ability to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Weekly ability to push and pull small office furniture, equipment, and tools.
  • Sitting: Daily ability to sit for long periods in meetings or while working on a computer.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Weekly ability to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items on low shelving.
  • Standing: Daily ability to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: Ability to travel (including driving) independently and at short notice (10% travel).
  • Walking: Daily ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for shop floor visits includes steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site or customer site.

Additional Information

This is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but may be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a third-party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.

This opportunity requires the ability to work in the U.S. without current or future need for visa sponsorship or work authorization.
