Flight Hours Services Repair Manager
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Flight Hours Services Repair Manager to support our Customer Service Repair department in Miami, FL. This role is integrated within the Airbus Flight Hours Services (FHS) teams.
About the Role
The Repair Manager serves as the main point of contact for the operations desk to manage FHS customers' critical situations involving Repair Suppliers. Responsibilities include ensuring suppliers deliver on time, within cost, and to quality standards. The role involves addressing non-performance, visiting suppliers, developing relationships, and challenging supplier organizations when necessary. The Repair Manager also steers activity ramp-up and coordinates with other Airbus entities.
Responsibilities
- Cost (25%):
- Challenges and validates commercial quotations, standard exchange, and loan offers in line with procurement guidelines (flat rate, PBH, Time & Material).
- Creates justification dossiers to recharge customers in cases of Customer Induced Damages (CID).
- Contributes to achieving the global FHS Repair cost target.
- Lead Time (25%):
- Ensures suppliers deliver/repair parts on time according to contractual obligations.
- Identifies root causes of issues and initiates/follows up on corrective actions, including at supplier facilities.
- Prioritizes AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and critical customer requests.
- Quality (25%):
- Organizes operational meetings with repair shops to address open issues, repair status, and data reconciliation; proposes process improvements.
- Ensures suppliers respect technical standards (SB, upgrades, etc.), work scope (minor/major repair), and certification (EASA, FAA, CAAS, etc.).
- Manages quarantines on parts returned from shops, analyzes and reports recurrent issues, and implements recovery plans.
- Continuous Improvement (15%):
- Contributes to continuous improvement and problem-solving within Repair Operations.
- Works closely with the method and tool team to guarantee data quality in the system.
- Provides precise information on parts status and statistics of operational events to stakeholders.
- Monitors and mentors subcontractors supporting daily administrative tasks.
- Additional Responsibilities (10%):
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Aerospace, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience in the aviation or supply chain industry.
- Experience in supply chain and supplier operational management.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, GSlides, GSheets), Excel, and SAP.
- Travel required: 5% (3–5 visits per year to suppliers).
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken, written, and influencing).
Working Environment
The Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami provides flight and maintenance crew training for Airbus airline customers, primarily in the Americas. The 110,000-square-foot facility trains over 2,000 cadets annually using full-flight simulators, computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door/slide trainers for the A320, A330, A340, and A350 XWB aircraft families. Miami also hosts the Airbus Latin America headquarters, supporting sales, marketing, contracts, customer support, and communications for commercial aircraft, helicopters, and space & defense divisions.

- Hearing: Ability to hear conversations in person and via teleconference/phone, as well as production floor sounds, including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: Ability to speak in conversations and meetings daily.
- Equipment Operation: Daily use of personal computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and electronic identification cards for building access.
- Carrying: Monthly ability to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
- Lifting: Monthly ability to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: Weekly ability to push/pull small office furniture and equipment/tools.
- Sitting: Daily ability to sit for long periods in meetings or while working on a computer.
- Squatting/Kneeling: Weekly ability to squat or kneel to retrieve/replace items on low shelving.
- Standing: Daily ability to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Walking: Daily ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
- Travel: Ability to travel independently and at short notice (10% travel).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel-toed shoes required for shop floor visits; hearing/eye protection may also be required.
