About the role

We’re hiring AirMed Aircraft Dispatchers responsible for planning and monitoring safe and efficient flight operations. All aspects of trip planning and logistics are created, monitored, and disseminated to flight crews by dispatch. AirMed Dispatchers are full-time employees who hold FAA Aircraft Dispatch Certificates and report directly to the Lead Aircraft Dispatcher and the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan all flight legs safely, legally, and timely, considering all legal requirements such as duty and flight time limitations.
  • Verify available fuel payment options to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor weather conditions en route and at planned stops for acceptability as trips progress.
  • Reserve and brief flight crews on logistical requirements, including airline reservations and hotels for flights requiring multiple crews.
  • Secure all overflight and operating permissions.
  • Supply customs documents to crew and coordinate customs activities with arriving port officers.
  • Check trip manifests against the latest TSA eSecure system information.
  • Build trip flight packets for captains and review flight-specific details.
  • Check performance information for arrivals and departures when high altitude or temperatures may cause limitations.
  • Maintain and renew operating permits.
  • Process and ensure compliance with all TSA employee and passenger vetting requirements.
  • Research international locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skilled in reading and writing English.
  • Capacity to communicate clearly on radio and telephone.
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
  • Able to efficiently utilize assigned equipment.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good typing skills with speed and accuracy for processing emergency and non-emergency calls.
  • Understanding of basic computer applications.

Qualifications

External Applicants: Must have an FAA Dispatcher License.

Internal Applicants (without FAA License): Start at $47,500/year. AirMed will pay for the FAA Training course (5-6 weeks). Upon obtaining the FAA Dispatcher License, salary increases to $52,500/year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aircraft dispatch experience (Part 121 or Part 135).
  • Foreign language skills.
  • ForeFlight Application experience.

Pay

  • External Applicants (with FAA License): $52,500/year.
  • Internal Applicants (without FAA License): $47,500/year (increases to $52,500/year upon obtaining license).
