About the role

The Technician Supervisor at FlexSteel is responsible for overseeing technicians and managing field-related customer service issues. They provide supervision, direction, and assistance to technicians, ensuring adherence to installation programs and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise technicians to ensure schedules and priorities align with client needs.
  • Achieve maximum utilizations of manpower and equipment without compromising safety or quality.
  • Plan and organize work processes, workloads, and staff assignments as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate technicians to comply with installation programs.
  • Communicate plans, policies, and procedures to staff and disseminate field operations related information and feedback to management.
  • Resolve issues related to field work and customer complaints.
  • Prepare and distribute communication alerts as required.
  • Validate time entry with Dispatchers for Financial Tracking (DFT) on a weekly basis.
  • Review deficiencies on a weekly basis and disseminate as needed for corrections.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to technicians in various ways.
  • Support in deployment or connection installation when FPT services are in high demand.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Company management.
  • Identify untrained contractors who could be good matches for future projects.
  • Perform ride-a-longs with field technicians in assigned regions to help coach/train for current and future development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Associates Degree, plus at least five years of supervisory experience in pipeline construction or a related industry.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of pipeline construction, spoolable product installation, and associated equipment, maintenance, and operational considerations.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong health and safety emphasis with current certifications.
  • Computer skills (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Travel to remote locations.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
