Fleet Technician 2 (Experienced)

About the role

As an experienced Fleet Mechanic, you will work with a high degree of independence while performing preventative maintenance and repairs on Pepsi's diverse fleet equipment. You'll utilize leading-edge technology and programs, including voice applications for PMs, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, and more. This role offers task variety, ongoing training, and opportunities to work on a wide range of equipment, from automobiles and trucks to vans and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and advanced repairs with a high degree of independence
• Utilize diagnostic tools and programs such as Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, and TAAS
• Work on diverse fleet equipment, including automobiles, light and heavy trucks, vans, forklifts, and electric vehicles
• Perform advanced diagnostics across all OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, and more)
• Conduct high-level repairs, including engine and driveline, after-treatment and emissions systems, and safety systems
• Adapt and build repair capabilities for alternative fuel applications (e.g., electric vehicles, CNG, B100)
• Diagnose vehicle failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
• Maintain documentation and records, such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
• Answer service calls and support Pepsi's strong safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures
• Be part of a team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America

Requirements

• Own basic hand tools (diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment will be provided)
• Perform physical movements, including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects (with or without accommodation)
• At least 18 years of age
• Able to pass a Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation)
• Experience or training with hydraulic and air brake systems
• Experience performing after-treatment and emissions repairs (e.g., Class 6-8 diesel)
• Experience performing driveline repairs (e.g., Class 6-8 diesel)
• Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel)

Qualifications

The following experience is helpful but not required:

• Removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs
• Diagnostic troubleshooting using codes
• Parts management and inventory controls
• Working under limited supervision
• Using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, changing tires, small tools)
• Preventative maintenance programs (oil changes, documentation, tracking miles/hours, defect repair)
• Working with computers (iPad, desktop, handheld, diagnostics)
• Repairing forklifts (propane, electrical, battery, hydraulic systems, pallet jacks)
• Working with manufacturing standard manuals (OEM support tools, electronic modules)
• Repairing heavy-duty equipment (Class 8, 7, 6, and medium-duty trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, thermo king units)
• Gas and/or diesel automotive repair
• Engine repairs (Class 6-8 diesel)
• Safety systems repairs
• Brakes Certification
• ASE Electrical, Heavy Duty, Suspension, or AC Certification (or Macs/Military equivalent)
• Driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL (road testing, moving trucks in/out of the repair shop)
• Repairing light trucks (EV, gas-diesel, vans, support vehicles)
• Shift work (on-call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift, flexible work weeks)
• Hotwork/Welding Certification or welding experience

Pay

Target pay of $31.85 per hour.
