Fleet Technician 2 (Experienced)

About the role

Fleet Mechanics play a key role in the success of our business by ensuring the reliability of our fleet and supporting the safety of our Drivers. As an experienced Fleet Mechanic at Pepsi Beverages North America (PBNA), you will work with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced environment, utilizing leading-edge technology and programs to maintain one of the largest fleets in North America.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and other advanced tools
• Work on Pepsi's diverse fleet equipment including automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), vans, forklifts, and alternative fuel applications (electric vehicle, CNG, B100)
• Perform advanced diagnostics across all OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, Material Handling Equipment, etc.)
• Conduct high-level repairs such as engine and driveline, after-treatment and emissions, and safety systems
• Diagnose failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
• Maintain documentation and records including vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
• Answer service calls and support Pepsi's strong safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures

Requirements

• Must provide your own basic hand tools (diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment will be provided)
• Physical ability to perform movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects (with or without accommodation)
• At least 18 years of age
• Able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation)
• Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems
• Experience performing after-treatment and emissions repairs (e.g., class 6 - 8 diesel)
• Experience performing driveline repairs (e.g., class 6 - 8 diesel)
• Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel, etc.)

Qualifications

Helpful experience includes:

• Removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs
• Diagnostic troubleshooting using codes
• Parts management and inventory controls
• Working under limited supervision
• Using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, changing tires, small tools)
• Preventative maintenance programs and activities
• Working with computers (i-pad, desktop, hand-held, laptop, diagnostics)
• Repairing forklifts (propane fuel, electrical, battery systems, hydraulic systems, pallet jacks)
• Working with manufacturing standard manuals and OEM support tools
• Repairing heavy-duty equipment (class 8, 7, 6, and medium-duty trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, thermo king heater and refer units)
• Gas and/or diesel automotive repair
• Performing engine repairs (e.g., class 6 - 8 diesel)
• Performing safety systems repairs
• Brakes Certification
• ASE Electrical, Heavy Duty, Suspension, or AC certification (or Macs/Military AC certification)
• Driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL
• Repairing light trucks (EV, gas-diesel, vans, support vehicles)
• Shift work (on-call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift, flexible work weeks)
• Hotwork/Welding Certification or welding experience

Pay

Target pay of $33.60 per hour.
