Fleet Supervisor

Ready to take the next step in your fleet career? The City of Wausau is seeking an experienced fleet professional to help lead the day-to-day operations that keep our diverse municipal fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. As Fleet Supervisor, you'll work alongside the Fleet Manager to lead and support skilled technicians, coordinate and prioritize maintenance and repairs, work with City departments and outside vendors, and help plan for future equipment needs. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge who is ready to combine their technical experience with leadership and decision-making responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support skilled technicians in fleet maintenance and repair operations
• Coordinate and prioritize maintenance and repairs across the municipal fleet
• Collaborate with City departments and outside vendors on fleet-related matters
• Assist in planning for future equipment needs and fleet expansion

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive experience in equipment maintenance and repair operations
• Strong knowledge of automotive, medium/heavy truck, heavy equipment, and related fleet systems
• Ability to organize work, solve problems, establish priorities, and provide direction to others
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A Class A CDL with N endorsement – or the ability to obtain the required CDL after hire

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience is preferred
• Related technical education is preferred
• Fleet certifications such as ASE or EVT are preferred
