About the role

This role involves working as a heavy-duty diesel truck and equipment mechanic for environmental services, focusing on safe operation, repair, rebuild, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and equipment, including CNG, gas, and electric vehicles.
  • Perform maintenance, complete work orders, order parts, and plan repairs.
  • Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Utilize various tools and maintain necessary personal tools.
  • Assist in training new employees and stay updated with technical advancements.
  • Perform administrative duties related to repairs and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical diploma preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication, ability to follow instructions, and work independently.
  • Physical ability to handle tools and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Experience with vacuum, hydrovac, or wet vac trucks is a plus.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to work in loud, demanding environments with exposure to chemicals and extreme weather.
  • Physical and mental stamina for detailed tasks and physical effort.
