Fleet Maintenance Tech II
About the role
Linde Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Tech II to join our team in Santana, KA. This position requires a strong commitment to personal safety and environmental accountability, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and logistics.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor, Operations, and logistics to prioritize vehicles for preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Maintain daily Fill and Ship schedules, Preventative Maintenance Schedules, and Vehicle Inspection Reports to set repair work priorities.
- Utilize basic diagnostics and repair skills to address mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and cryogenic piping issues.
- Perform body work to make containers serviceable or improve appearance.
- Weld, solder, bend, shape, and bolt panel parts and fixtures; perform touch-up and maintenance painting; apply brackets, plates, decals, and special equipment as needed.
- Assist in part requisitions, materials, fuels, lubricants, tires, batteries, and other supplies as needed, maintaining records of vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain garage tools and equipment in good repair; keep work areas clean and orderly; follow safety procedures.
- Absorb intermediate inspections on ISO containers.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- An Associates or Tech School degree preferred.
- More than two (2+) years Maintenance technician 1 experience, or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, Data entry, etc.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to work on demand, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The ability to work safely around various types of rotating equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships.
- Willingness and ability to travel (up to 20%) to remote locations for repairs and/or inspections.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge in Vacuum and Cryogenics systems.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Skills
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of DOT/IMDG guides and manufacturer’s manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders (WOs), Technical Violation Incident Reports (TVIRs), and operation write-ups.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
