About the Role
Perform effective, safe, and efficient driving duties. Deliver packages to customers on a scheduled route while meeting service and performance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned vehicle and deliver/pick up shipments.
- Serve as the point of contact for customer service and help resolve customer complaints.
- Collect money from customers.
- Load and unload assigned vehicle, ensuring all loads are properly secured for transport.
- Operate all warehouse equipment/machinery.
- Achieve assigned performance metrics and KPIs.
- Help maintain a secure, organized, clean, and safe warehouse and vehicle.
- Handle all hazardous materials, pesticides, and prescription drugs according to the Company’s processes/procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on assigned vehicle per schedule to ensure it is always in good and safe condition.
- Adhere to DOT drug & alcohol testing requirements.
- Follow all local, state, and federal motor carrier laws.
- Submit all required daily, weekly, and monthly compliance reports.
- Follow company biosecurity policies and customer biosecurity protocols as required.
- Assist the fulfillment center in daily operations when not performing delivery duties.
- Manage time effectively, meeting personal goals and fleet goals and objectives.
- Perform all work in accordance with Company Safety guidelines and procedures, including all required Safety and Compliance Training and regulatory licensing.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and current driver’s license.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- CDL with no endorsements required for driving vehicles up to 56k GVWR tandem axle box truck.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must obtain a satisfactory MVR review.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle.
- Knowledge of delivery area and ability to read maps.
- Able to work as an effective team member.
- Basic problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Effective time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- One-year experience as a CDL driver preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 55 pounds; team lift 56 to 100 pounds: continuous, moderate, or occasional heavy physical activity.
- Moving 50% of the time; stationary position 50% of the time.
- Move loads on pallet jack (with pallets/totes/barrels) weighing up to 2,500 lbs.
- Load and unload vehicle.
Environmental Factors
- Assigned vehicle/vehicles.
- Electronic Driver Logs as required.
- General warehouse equipment.
- General office equipment.
Travel and On-call
- May require overnight delivery runs.
Pay
The potential compensation range for this role is $21.30 - $27.71 per hour. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location, experience, and skills.
