Fleet Dispatch Manager

About the role

The Fleet Dispatch Manager is responsible for customer and driver satisfaction within the assigned location while meeting company goals for Safety & Compliance, Customer Service, and annual objectives. The role requires excellent customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers and dispatch vehicles
• Administer payroll and purchase orders
• Manage equipment maintenance schedules
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and DOT laws and regulations
• Monitor driver performance and ensure adherence to company policies
• Audit fuel purchases daily
• Record and report collisions, injuries, and damages
• Conduct safety training and maintain safety checklists
• Ensure all hours of service regulations and DOT policies are adhered to
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections
• Report and charge preventable damages
• Assist with safety audits and training

Requirements

• Understanding of food product distribution laws and DOT requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving and project management skills
• Geographical knowledge and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred
• 3+ years of logistics and fleet management experience
• Experience with TMS systems
