Fleet Automotive Mechanic B

About the role

Transdev in Belle Mead, NJ is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic (B) to bolster our team. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for our customers.
• Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including the repair of brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
• Maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Complete other responsibility as requested or required.

Requirements

• Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL Class A or B – We cover expense, training, and vehicle for testing!
• 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or a combination of education & experience.
• Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
• ASE certifications are preferred.
• Must participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!).
• Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing.

Qualifications

$25.00 – Maximum $33.00 / hour

Physical Requirements

• Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
