Fixed Assets Accountant
About the role
A VACO client is seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Assets Accountant to join their Accounting & Finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of fixed assets, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with company policies, and adherence to GAAP standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger.
- Record asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and retirements.
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
- Perform fixed asset reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Aid in capital expenditure tracking and reporting.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure proper asset classification and capitalization.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Analyze capital projects and provide financial reporting on fixed asset activity.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills.
- A solid accounting foundation.
- Experience working with fixed asset systems in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with fixed asset management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
