Fixed Asset Accountant

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fixed Asset Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting of the Company's significant investments in facilities, construction projects, equipment, and other capital assets. This role partners closely with Accounting, Treasury, Operations, and Real Estate to ensure capital activity is accurately recorded and reported. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to understand the business behind financial transactions, build collaborative relationships, and continuously improve processes, reporting, and internal controls.
This position offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in fixed asset and capital project accounting while gaining broad exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives, technology improvements, and increasing responsibility over time.
Responsibilities
- Support the accounting and financial reporting of construction projects, fixed assets, equipment, and other capital investments.
- Monitor construction in progress and capital project activity to ensure costs are accurately recorded, supported, and appropriately classified.
- Assist with asset capitalization, project closeout, transfers, disposals, and other fixed asset activity.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting schedules for the monthly and annual close processes in relation to fixed assets.
- Partner with Real Estate, Operations, Treasury, and other departments to understand project activity and resolve accounting or reporting matters.
- Support accounting and reporting for capital projects involving affiliated entities.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests while maintaining appropriate documentation and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve fixed asset accounting processes, reporting, data quality, and efficiency through standardization, automation, and technology.
- Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support additional Accounting and Finance responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- ERP system experience required (Oracle heavily preferred).
- Must have experience with both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Pay
$60,000 - $70,000 annually
