Fitness Specialist - Corporate Wellness

About the role

We are seeking a Fitness Specialist with strong leadership and communication skills and a passion for wellness to join our team in Chicago. This full-time role supports the General Manager (GM) and Fitness Manager (FM) in operating the fitness center, with a focus on building robust group exercise and personal training programs, as well as creating and executing challenges and competitions. We value creativity, innovation, and a proactive approach to engaging all audiences while meeting and exceeding performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Create a culture of excellent customer service, similar to luxury hospitality, tailored to member needs.
• Develop a strong personal training program as a cornerstone of the corporate fitness center.
• Assist the GM and FM with daily responsibilities and tasks.
• Develop and maintain a class schedule based on member and client feedback.
• Keep the gym website updated with programs, events, and classes.
• Network with other vendors on the property to integrate the fitness center into the broader facility.
• Conduct reporting on fitness-related information, including personal training and class participation.
• Create an outreach strategy to generate additional personal training clients.
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and respond to member feedback.
• Greet all members and foster a friendly environment.
• Implement and grow holistic wellness solutions and other wellness-related services.
• Assist with facility upkeep, including folding towels, cleaning equipment, organizing supplies, restocking toiletries, and maintaining a 5-star level of cleanliness and hospitality.

Requirements

• 2 years of personal training experience.
• Degree in Exercise Science or a related field.
• Certified Personal Trainer certification.
• CPR/AED certification.

Pay

$50,000 base salary plus additional commission for personal training and group fitness classes.

Schedule

• Monday & Tuesday: 11 AM – 7 PM
• Wednesday & Friday: 6 AM – 2 PM
