Role summary / purposeThe Fit to Nominal Engineer will be responsible for validating the Fit and Finish deck, identifying part-to-part coordination issues and quality issues in exterior/interior product design by measuring margin and flushness, and using perceived quality audits to confirm part-to-part compliance across launch events.Key responsibilitiesMeasure vehicle level interior and exterior part-to-part margins and flushness to confirm compliance to build event requirements. Measurements will be taken on completed vehicles.Perform Perceived Quality Reviews based on the GFCPA Audit Checklist.Lead CTQ / PQ audits with launch teams across all development phases.Summarize and document vehicle compliance to build requirements at each build event.Generate issue lists and setup binning sessions with the broader team within 1 week of audit completion.Lead CTQ (Critical to Quality) AIMS issues generation and AIMS updates.Perform part dimensional data analysis and OK to Grain assessments with required completion milestones for pre-graining approval.Review and provide final AAR approval based on dimensional data.Work with Product Development, VOME Engineers, STA, and Suppliers for tracking and binning Fit Finish Issues.Requirements - education & experience3 years of automotive Body Interior/Exterior related experience.Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).Knowledge of how to perform physical dimensioning on vehicles.Demonstrated track record of project delivery and cross-system problem solving.Required skillsTeamcenter VisMockup knowledge equivalent to designer role.Proficient reading, writing, and conversational English.Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Employment details - type, location, hoursHybrid position, 4 days per week in the office (Monday to Thursday).
