Responsibilities
- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.
- Contributes to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
- Deals with changing priorities and differing situations and makes decisions that may affect the work of the team.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
- Counsels and trains less experienced staff.
- Conducts engineering and related studies.
- Completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with increasing ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; increasingly competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems.

Qualifications
- Basic Requirements - Engineer I: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.
- Basic Requirements - Engineer II: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam. Increasingly proficient in principles of project management. Experience in the utility industry. Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department. Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles. Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations. Good written and oral communication skills.
