Fish Transporter/Hydro Utility Worker

Responsibilities

• Operates a fish transport truck
• Performs general power plant, waterway, and substation maintenance work
• Operates and drives all equipment, not classified as heavy equipment at the Hydro Plants.
• Operates a tugboat for the purpose of removing log debris on the reservoirs, and positioning log booms and buoys
• Operates loaders of ¾ yard capacity or less
• As a state certified applicator, applies herbicides and pesticides
• Performs non-licensed electrical work such as replacement of light switches and heater elements
• Uses chain saw for tree removal
• Assists Hydro Mechanics in unit repairs, to include overhauls, large and small maintenance, and crane inspections
• Works as a Hydro Utility Worker when not operating a fish transport truck

Requirements

• A high school diploma and one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain CDL with tanker endorsement within six months of hire date, via PacifiCorp provided training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Mechanical understanding of bearings, lubrication, hydraulics, and moving machinery.
