Since 1989, Orlando Venues has served as Central Florida’s epicenter of sports and live entertainment, with the City of Orlando department overseeing the Kia Center, Camping World Stadium, Tinker Field, Harry P. Leu Gardens, Mennello Museum of American Art and the Public Art program. Collectively, these diverse venues host high-profile sporting events like the NFL Pro Bowl Games, Orlando Magic NBA basketball and three annual bowl games along with big-name concerts including Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and the massive annual EDC Orlando. Our venues also enrich the surrounding community with award-winning art exhibitions, immersive events and educational experiences throughout the year.

About the role

Provides a wide variety of paraprofessional, technical, administrative, budget, and financial support that contributes to the successful operation of one of the City's most dynamic and high-profile departments. Work includes assisting the Fiscal Manager with the coordination and execution of various accounting and financial activities that support world-class concerts, professional and collegiate sporting events, festivals, and other premier events hosted at Orlando Venues facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, journal entries, accounts receivables and accounts payables transactions, account reconciliations.
  • Organize, maintain, review, and interpret financial records.
  • Support the financial administration of major concerts, sporting events, festivals, and other special events by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with City policies, contractual obligations, and applicable accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree with major coursework in Accounting or Business plus project leadership experience and three (3) years responsible experience in Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must pass background check which includes polygraph.
  • Ability to operate personal computers with specific knowledge of JDE, Excel, and Access highly desired.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree: two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree; four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Pay

Salary Range: $22.27–$28.40 per hour
