Responsibilities
- Determine referral eligibility for payments in accordance with federal regulations
- Evaluate provider agreements to ensure compliance
- Audit claims for accuracy
- Initiate payments
- Maintain meticulous fiscal records while ensuring confidentiality
- Serve as the key contact for provider groups regarding program coverage and billing requirements
- Proactively communicate to enhance stakeholder relationships
- Monitor PRC funds
- Track potential cases requiring special attention
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical billing setting and/or working with medical claims
- Proficiency in modern office practices and basic accounting procedures
- Strong command of business English, spelling, grammar, and arithmetic
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of records management and basic accounting procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds with knowledge of Indian community and sensitivity to needs
- Knowledge of business software such as Word, Excel, Access, and presentation tools like PowerPoint
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience in a medical billing setting and/or working with medical claims
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
- Business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and basic arithmetic
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Records management and basic accounting procedures
- Communication skills to work with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality
- Professional relationships with professional groups and health providers
