Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive employee to oversee assigned personnel, implement staff action plans, and manage day-to-day operations of the Self-Direction program.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the supervision of assigned Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs) and other assigned staff
- Orient, train, and direct staff regarding specific job duties
- Provide ongoing direction, support, and regular one-on-one supervision to staff
- Conduct performance evaluations of staff—initial, 6 months, and annual; document performance concerns and follow-up with disciplinary action, if necessary
- Provide instruction and teaching to staff regarding skills, duties, and responsibilities required for their positions, including professional, health, safety and welfare, skills, procedures and standards, and mandated OPWDD training
- Maintain staff training records
- Complete a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with self-directing individuals on assigned caseload
- Review monthly financials/utilization for individuals on assigned caseload and rectify any items in a timely manner in conjunction with Support Broker
- Review staff documentation, staff timecards, and monthly summaries for both completion and accuracy for billing; follow-up as needed for corrections
- Maintain records and data required by OPWDD and Medicaid to support Medicaid billing, i.e. life plans, LCED etc.; follow-up with individuals' care managers as needed for any missing and/or non-compliant documentation
- Review, implement, and approve for submission to OPWDD: start-up, initial and amended budgets, including cost-neutral budget amendments; communicate budget changes to Human Resources, Finance, and Compliance
- Send monthly reports to individuals detailing their expense usage in all categories of their budget, including remainder balances through the end of the budget year
- Provide person-centered, quality services
- Follow Agency standards and procedures
- Maintain compliance with applicable program rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned/requested
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, required
- One year of experience working with people with disabilities, preferred
- One year of experience as an FI or Support Broker, preferred
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
Pay
$22.66 hourly
Schedule
Monday–Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
