Position Details

The University of Tampa invites applications for a First-Year Studies instructional staff position. This position is a key part of the University of Tampa's general education program, Spartan Studies. We seek an individual who is prepared to make an enthusiastic contribution to helping first-time in college and transfer students make a successful transition into the University community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach eight sections of the UTampa 101/102 course.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Spartan Studies and First-Year Studies, including:
    • Course schedule management using the University's student information system, Workday.
    • Update and maintain departmental information in the University catalog.
    • Website and digital content management.
    • Manage the Spartan Studies course proposal submission process.
    • Financial and purchasing administration.
    • Event planning and coordination.
    • Scheduling and monitoring various assessment instruments and surveys.

Qualifications

  • Hold a master's or doctoral-level degree.
  • Previous teaching experience with first-year students and/or first-year experience programs preferred.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Summer Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additional hours required upon the demands of the division and college.
