About the role

Boeing Global Services (BGS), Distribution Business, is looking for a dynamic First Line Quality Manager to join our team of Quality Professionals in Enfield, CT. This front-line leader manages a team of quality inspectors supporting various sites, adhering to AS9100/9120 standards. The role involves providing daily workload direction, guidance, and coaching while upholding high standards in safety, quality, and integrity. You will foster a culture rooted in humility, inclusion, and transparency, drive process improvements, and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, administer, and maintain quality control procedures to ensure company products comply with drawing and customer requirements.
  • Lead and coach process improvement teams across functions.
  • Review and manage IT solutions that support the Quality organization.
  • Execute the quality department budget and manage expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead and develop the assigned team to ensure material configurations support drawing and business requirements.
  • Maintain FAA configuration and eligibility across the business unit.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large-scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience in the Commercial/Defense or Distribution Aviation Industry.
  • Knowledgeable of AS9100/9120 and ASA-100 Standards.
  • Proficient computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Access, etc.).
  • FAA, CAA, or EASA experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience in a role requiring creative, critical thinking, troubleshooting, collaboration, and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient communication skills for performance management, coaching, and discipline.
  • Experience in Aerospace Quality Assurance and Inspection.
  • Knowledge of Aviation Regulatory Compliance.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations. Summary pay range: $102,000 - $145,000.

Schedule

This position is for 1st shift.
