Responsibilities

• Surgical Skills: Assists and scrubs in surgery. Maintains homeostasis, handling of tissue, and closing of wound layers as directed by the surgeon.
• Case Preparedness: Prepares for all cases by having the correct working equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
• Facilitator: Facilitates timely starts by supervising or performing the opening of the case, positioning, catheter placement, prepping, and draping so that the schedule flows smoothly.
• Self-Education: Maintains and updates self-knowledge and skill of instruments, equipment, and specialty techniques.
• Surgical Environment: Provides a safe, professional, and efficient environment for the surgical patient, maintaining asepsis and knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to the surgical procedure.
• Maintains established company/hospital policies, procedures, directives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards appropriate to this position.
• Represents Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC) to the community. Acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

Requirements

• CSTFA or RN.
• Candidate must have or be working toward being a graduate of an accredited program and certified as a Certified Surgical Technician Certified First Assist (CSTCFA) or a Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA).
• Minimum of four (4) years related experience in the Operating Room.
• Strong attention to details, high degree of persuasiveness.
