FIRE & SECURITY SERVICE ENGINEER - NORTH WALES / CHESHIRE / SHROPSHIRE REGIONS
Role Description
We’re looking for a skilled Fire & Security Service Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of a range of systems, including fire alarms, CCTV (IP and analogue), intruder alarms, and access control systems. This field-based role will involve regular system checks, commissioning, and fault-finding to ensure the safety and security of our clients’ properties. You’ll also provide outstanding customer service, supporting our 24/7 monitoring operations, and responding to emergency call-outs on a rota basis.

Salary & Benefits
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime, travel, and on-call allowance
Earning potential: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum

The role is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm + travel
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding on electronic fire and security systems
Install and commission new fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems
Respond to reactive call-outs and complete remedial works efficiently
Ensure systems comply with relevant British Standards (BS EN) and industry regulations
Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times
Work independently and collaboratively within a supportive, growing team
Participate in the on-call rota (currently 1 week in 6)
Experience & Skills Required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in servicing and maintaining:
- Security/Intruder Alarm Systems (e.g., Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic)
- CCTV Systems (analogue and IP)
- Fire Alarm Systems (e.g., Advanced, Kentec, Ziton, Menvier, C-Tec)
- Access Control Systems (e.g., Paxton)
Experience in installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis
Strong electrical/electronic engineering background
Good understanding of IP networking and system integration desirable
Computer literate (engineers use PDAs and digital reporting tools)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Full UK driving licence required
Willingness to undergo security screening in line with industry standards
Desirable Certifications & Qualifications
FIA or BAFE training/certification
ECS/CSCS card
Manufacturer training on Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, or Advanced systems
Experience with BS5839 / BSEN50131 compliant systems
