Mid-Level Fire Protection Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an experienced, mid-level Fire Protection Engineering Professional to join our growing design team in any of the following Pond offices or remotely:

Candidate should have 2-5 years’ experience with an EIT license, working towards a PE license in Fire Protection Engineering. Responsibilities will focus on design and production of fire protection engineering project construction documents or reports under the general supervision of Senior Engineers.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Fire Protection Engineering design lead on projects, including making design decisions on suppression systems, fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and assisting Architecture with Life Safety design.
- Perform accurate, legible, and well-thought-out design calculations.
- Coordinate Fire Protection Engineering design with other disciplines, highlighting design components that will impact other disciplines' designs to ensure constructability without conflict.
- Attend project kick-off meetings and coordination meetings.
- Work independently with minimal supervision; be self-motivated and take initiative.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with company QC procedures.
- Communicate with clients as needed and defined by the project.
- Contact clients and/or contractors as needed on specific jobs.
- Work well within a team environment, maintain a positive attitude, multi-task, and produce high-quality work.
- Demonstrate the ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 4+ years related experience and/or training.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) license required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Apps.
- Revit/AutoCAD/BIM preferred but can be trained.

Travel Requirements
- Occasional attendance at meetings and other off-site events requires reliable transportation.
- Position may require occasional travel to domestic or foreign locations.
- Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- May require international travel; capability to travel freely on a passport or other official document.

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge, and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. Additional cash incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package.
