Mid/Senior Fire Protection Engineer
About the role
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Mid to Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. This position involves working directly with clients and performing technical work ("Seller Doer"). Key responsibilities include managing and implementing consulting projects, coordinating building code reviews, preparing technical reports, and communicating with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement a wide variety of consulting projects
- Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits
- Prepare and peer review of project-related technical reports
- Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues
- Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field
- Four (4) years of professional Fire Protection Consulting experience
- Eight (8) years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Fire Protection Engineering or other professional designation in Fire Protection, is highly desirable (such as NICET Level IV in any of the Fire Protection certifications)

- The ideal candidate will be a "Doer Seller," with client connections and ability to develop new business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections
- Experience with project management or specific responsibilities for any portion of large complex projects
- Able to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes

Pay
Final compensation may vary based on factors, including but not limited to, responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geographic location, internal equity, alignment with market data. National Pay Range: $111,000—$197,000 USD
