Fire Safety Inspector
About the role
The Fire and Life Safety Unit in the Facilities Services Department is responsible for the Fire Alarm systems maintenance, operation, repairs, design, installation, programming, testing and inspection. Along with Fire Extinguishers maintenance and inspection. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for Fire Sprinkler maintenance, service, testing and inspection at UCSF.
Responsibilities
- Test and inspect fire and life safety systems
- Aid in installation, maintenance and repair of equipment
Requirements
Two (2) years of experience working in a facilities organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with campus departments at all levels, contractors and design consultants; ability to effectively interact with a diverse professional staff both independently and as a team member in a busy environment.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations and reports.
Demonstrated ability to give clear written and oral instructions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to analyze problems, determine solutions, and make decisions based on analysis.
Fingerprinting, background check, and physical examination required.

Pay
Final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
