About the role

ACI is seeking a dynamic, motivated Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman to join our expanding team. This is a working foreman position responsible for supervising crews and directly performing skilled fire protection construction tasks, including the assembly, installation, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures for fire protection sprinkler systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage labor and materials to meet or exceed project budgets
  • Track hours and manpower for all tasks
  • Provide training to improve quality, production, and safety
  • Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks
  • Attend job site and office meetings related to assigned projects
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
  • Guide and direct crews to meet project budgets and schedules
  • Manage fire protection installation teams, including sprinkler fitters and helpers
  • Interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
  • Install wet, CPVC, and steel systems in commercial and industrial buildings
  • Plan work to optimize manpower and resources
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work for conformance to contract and specifications
  • Maintain documentation for work performed
  • Demonstrate team leadership and mentorship
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete projects on time with high-quality work and customer satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler installation or equivalent vocational training
  • 1+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman running crews on heavy commercial construction projects
  • Knowledge of NFPA 13 and all relevant codes
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams of 8 to 10 individuals
  • Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and follow instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Availability to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman on commercial construction projects
  • Prior experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler fitter/installer
  • Prior military experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Work Environment

  • Work in varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
  • Exposure to moderate/high noise levels, fumes, airborne particles (e.g., dust)
  • Work in confined spaces or at heights

Physical Demands

  • Routine use of construction equipment, heavy machinery, hand and power tools
  • Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Ability to identify color-coded cables/wires and meet close/distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision requirements
