About the role
Responsible for the day-to-day activities of assigned personnel on the assembly, installation, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of fire protection sprinkler systems. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Manage labor and materials to ensure the assigned tasks meet or beat budgets for each
- Track hours and manpower on all tasks
- Provide training in areas needing improvements to ensure quality, production, and safety
- Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks
- Attend, as needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects
- Interpret company policy for workers and enforce safety regulations
- Provide guidance and direction to crews in meeting budgets and project schedule
- Manage installation fitters and helpers at job site
- Interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
- Install wet, CPVC, and steel systems in commercial and industrial buildings
- Plan work to make the most efficient use of assigned manpower and other resources
- Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification
- Maintain appropriate documentation for the work performed
- Demonstrate positive teamwork and ability to be a team leader and mentor
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete projects in a timely manner while providing the highest standard of quality work and customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler Installation field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- 1 to 3 years' experience as a Foreman
- Knowledgeable with NFPA 13 and all codes
- Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Adhere to all company policy and procedures
- Available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
Work Environment
- May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
- May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
- May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
Physical Demands
- Routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
- May work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Travel
May require travel (typically not overnight).

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factors.
