About the role
Atlantic Constructors is seeking a dynamic, motivated Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman to join our expanding team. This position is a working foreman role, responsible for supervising crews while also directly performing skilled fire protection construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Manage labor and materials to meet or exceed project budgets
- Track hours and manpower for all assigned tasks
- Provide training to improve quality, production, and safety
- Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks related to fire protection systems
- Attend job site and office meetings as needed
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
- Guide and direct crews to meet project budgets and schedules
- Manage fire protection installation teams, including sprinkler fitters and helpers
- Interpret blueprints and architectural drawings
- Install wet, CPVC, and steel fire protection systems in commercial and industrial buildings
- Plan work to maximize efficiency of manpower and resources
- Inspect work in progress and completed work for conformance to contract and specifications
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all work performed
- Demonstrate team leadership and mentorship
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete projects on time while ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler Installation field or equivalent vocational training
- 1+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman running crews on heavy commercial construction projects
- Knowledge of NFPA 13 and all relevant codes
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams of 8 to 10 individuals
- Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and follow written/oral instructions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures
- Availability and means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman on commercial construction projects
- Prior experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler fitter/installer
- Prior military experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Work Environment
- Work in varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
- Exposure to moderate/high noise levels
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, including dust
- Work in confined spaces or at heights
Physical Demands
- Routine use of construction equipment, including heavy machinery, hand, and power tools
- Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to identify colors of color-coded cables/wires
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Travel
May require travel, typically not overnight.
