About the role

This is a rare opportunity to work with a top chef in one of the hottest restaurants in the Springfield area. Pay is up to $18/hr depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, flexible schedule, PTO/sick time, on-site fitness center, salon/spa, day care, doctor's office, chiropractor, 401k retirement plans with a 5% match, wellness programs, and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of foods such as meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items.
  • Absolutely responsible for the quality of products served.
  • Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies/procedures.
  • Ensure proper plate presentation and garnishing for all dishes.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service periods.
  • Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Practice safe and hygienic food handling techniques.
  • Handle, store, and rotate products correctly.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks as assigned.
  • Close the kitchen following all closing checklists provided by the Executive Chef.
  • Communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front-of-house associates.
  • Assist in various areas of the hotel's Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef/Executive Chef.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, guest service, and time management skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload effectively.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment.
  • Dependable and energetic personality.
  • Previous line cook experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Flexible scheduling due to business demands.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent head turning, bending, reaching, handling, and grasping.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling is minimal.
  • Candidate must pass a job-specific post-offer physical before starting employment with Oasis Hotel.
