Fire Alarm Service Technician
Position Summary
The Fire Alarm Service Technician position at VSC Fire & Security involves providing safe and efficient service on multiple integrated systems. The technician resolves technical issues and communicates effectively to understand and resolve problems. This role focuses on fire alarm systems but may also include Area of Refuge, BDA, and DAS systems.

What you need
- Two to three years of experience in servicing at least one or more of the following systems: fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems.
- Proficient in following written and verbal instructions, with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain productivity in the field, set goals, and meet service schedule.
- Competent in reading plans, documents, meters, and discerning colors for safety signage.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Reliable transportation, valid State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.

What you will do
- Installs, tests, and repairs fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems.
- Troubleshoots system malfunctions and false alarms.
- Programs multiple types of systems and tests for proper operation.
- Consults with clients on system issues; provides recommendations for repair.
- Uses blueprints or building plans to determine proper systems to install/service based on building layout and setting.
- Runs wiring and circuits, installs hardware, and attaches electrical wires.
- Inspects and tests systems, batteries, and electrical wiring; makes adjustments, and repairs as required.
- Replaces malfunctioning hardware when necessary.
- Ensures systems comply with NEC and NFPA fire codes.
- Explains and demonstrates system function and operation to end users.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Be on call as required.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Follow design plans for installation start-up jobs and communicate and document any changes.
