Fire Alarm Service Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks a skilled technician to join its team. This role involves receiving service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnosing and repairing electronic fire alarm systems and other building system products.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including descriptions of equipment/system malfunctions.
• Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system issues.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sites.
• Provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during service visits.

Requirements

• Completion of High School diploma or equivalency.
• Mechanical or electronic experience.
• A valid motor vehicle license.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in restricted areas and maneuver ladders.
• High level of customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers.

Preferred

• Previous experience in the Fire Protection industry.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and dangerous goods.

• Hiring hourly range: $18.26-25.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
