Job Summary
Piper Fire Protection is currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our Clearwater, FL team. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm Systems and resolving any problems. Projects will typically involve work around the Clearwater, FL region and surrounding areas. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm products, supporting software, and electrical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and inspection of fire alarm systems and associated systems.
- Occasional installations as needed. Providing recommendations for system installations and service improvements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the company vehicle, and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately and provide clear documentation of work performed.
- Communicate professionally with customers before and after any call to explain work performed and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure timely job completion
- Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
- Participate in “on-call rotation”
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience in repair, service, and/or installation of fire alarm systems.
- Fire Alarm Panel Programming experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Solid understanding of fire alarm products.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, and current industry standards.
- Participation in rotating on-call shifts (required for Service Department team members).
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required
- Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Field certifications a plus (NICET, FASA/BASA).
