Fire Alarm Service Technician

About the role

Convergint is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Service Technician to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems while contributing to a positive, culture-driven workplace.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the testing, programming, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Service and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems according to local and national codes and company policies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and manuals.
• Communicate effectively with other team members to improve overall operations.
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain a professional image.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong technical skills and experience with fire alarm systems.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to travel to jobsites regularly, with minimal overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a fire alarm service technician, preferably with programming experience in EST 3 or EST 4 systems.
• Texas FAL certification required.
• NICET II certification preferred.
• Associates degree in Electronic technology or similar field.

Skills

• Customer service orientation.
• Technical proficiency with fire alarm systems.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience in commercial/industrial/low voltage/electrical environments.

Pay
