Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm / Security Systems Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, and service fire alarm, security, access control, and video surveillance systems for commercial and industrial customers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial fire alarm, intrusion alarm, access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and related low-voltage systems.
  • Program, configure, and commission fire and security systems according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
  • Diagnose system issues and perform timely repairs to minimize customer downtime.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding system operation, maintenance needs, and service recommendations.
  • Cook up with project managers, field supervisors, and other technicians to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; technical or vocational training is preferred.
  • Experience installing and servicing commercial fire alarm and/or electronic security systems is required.
  • A working knowledge of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems is necessary.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities are required.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities is important.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • The ability to pass required background screenings where applicable is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I-IV) is preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications such as LenelS2, Genetec, Software House (CCURE), Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Honeywell, Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, or similar are preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, National Electrical Code (NEC), and applicable local codes is preferred.
  • Experience with IP networking fundamentals related to security and life safety systems is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders, work on lifts, and perform overhead work.
  • Bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform precise wiring tasks.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Operate company vehicles safely.
