We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire Alarm Field Service Technician to join our team, focusing on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems primarily in Brooklyn, NY, with secondary coverage in Lower Manhattan. This role demands a proactive individual with a strong technical aptitude and a commitment to ensuring the safety and functionality of critical fire alarm infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in fire alarm systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency situations promptly, providing efficient and reliable solutions.
  • Program, configure, and calibrate fire alarm system components.
  • Document all service activities, including detailed reports of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
  • NICET Level I Certification (preferred).
  • Experience with Edwards EST (preferred).
  • FDNY S78 or S98 certification required for Tier II and Tier III employees.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Residence Requirement:
    • Tier I: Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan.
    • Tier II: Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, or Nassau County.
    • Tier III: Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Nassau County, Northern NJ, or Westchester.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems principles and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
