About the role
The NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Fiona Thistlethwaite as its new Co-Director.
Responsibilities
Professor Thistlethwaite, a Medical Oncology Consultant at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Director of the Innovate Manchester Advanced Therapy Centre Hub, and Honorary Professor at The University of Manchester, will focus on supporting patients and ensuring they feel well cared for while participating in cutting-edge trials.

- How the immune system can be harnessed against cancer
- Personalised immune cell treatments
- Combination immunotherapies
- Immune biomarkers demonstrating the response of the immune system to cancer and treatment
Location
The Manchester CRF is the largest and most comprehensive NIHR-funded CRF in the UK, located across 6 dedicated sites in Greater Manchester, including adult and paediatric services.
