Finish (Production) - 2nd Shift Job

Primary location: Marshfield, Missouri. Relocation may be offered. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position on the 2nd shift (3:15 pm to 1:45 am), Monday to Thursday with a 4/10 schedule and possible overtime on Friday/Saturday.

We are seeking a wood finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare and finish wood surfaces to meet high-quality standards. Responsibilities include sanding, staining, sealing, and topcoating wood products. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finish wood surfaces, including sanding, staining, sealing, and topcoating to meet quality standards.
• Work on customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes.
• Maintain a safe work environment for self and others, adhering to safe work practices.
• Perform machine start-up, shut-down, and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all paperwork related to the spray line.
• Communicate key information to Production Supervisor and Team Leads in a timely manner.
• Distinguish between different color shades and use measuring devices to determine sheen and mil coating thicknesses.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Standard Work Sheets, Manufacturing Drawings, Routers, and Travelers.
• Collaborate with the team to meet safety, quality, and delivery expectations.

Requirements

• Dependable, punctual, and good attendance record.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing documentation (e.g., Standard Work Sheets, Manufacturing Drawings).
• Ability to start up, shut down, and make machine adjustments via a computer touch-screen.
• Ability to distinguish between color shades and use measuring devices for sheen and coating thickness.
• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• No minimum education or experience required, though 1-3 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of wood products and finishing is a plus.
• OSHA 10-hour training preferred.

Skills

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills for team collaboration.
• Proficiency in using standard office equipment (computers, phones, etc.).

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this role is competitive and based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

• 2nd shift: 3:15 pm to 1:45 am, Monday to Thursday (4/10 schedule).
• Possible overtime on Friday/Saturday.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing setting with occasional hot/cold temperatures, uneven walking surfaces, intermittent loud noises, and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes. Other PPE is available upon request.

The physical demands include frequent standing, walking, handling objects, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The role requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

About the Location

ACGI’s Marshfield, Missouri plant is located in southwestern Missouri, within 3 hours of Tulsa, Kansas City, and St. Louis, and 30 minutes from Springfield. The area offers outdoor opportunities such as fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife exploration, with eight large lakes within an hour’s drive and conservation areas nearby.
