About the role
Instruct students in all facets of 6th grade theatre classes/programming, as identified in our Frisco ISD theatre curriculum, and enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society through appropriate learning activities and experiences to help fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in all facets of 6th grade theatre classes/programming, as identified in our Frisco ISD theatre curriculum, and enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society through appropriate learning activities and experiences to help fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of all students.
- Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Accompany and supervise students both on and off campus depending on program activities.
- Create an annual calendar of student performance opportunities, evaluations, and events.
- Collaborate with directors vertically and horizontally across the District.
- Develop and implement lesson plans for theater rehearsals and provide written lesson plans as required.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, Board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Maintain educational records demonstrating student mastery and growth in curricular content.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to District requirements.
- Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) as appropriate.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of all students.
