Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation and optimization of financial systems for legal industry clients, including scoping, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client engagements, managing relationships, setting expectations, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct current-state assessments of client financial processes and systems, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Design and document future-state workflows, system configurations, and integration requirements aligned with client operational needs and regulatory considerations
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to configure and customize financial platforms, ensuring solutions meet both functional and compliance requirements
  • Support data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation across financial systems
  • Develop and deliver client-facing training materials, user guides, and documentation to drive adoption and self-sufficiency
  • Contribute to business development efforts by participating in proposals, client presentations, and thought leadership activities
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing across the organization

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial systems consulting, implementation, or a related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client-facing engagements with multiple stakeholders from discovery through go-live
  • Strong understanding of legal billing standards (e.g., LEDES, ABA billing guidelines), trust accounting requirements, and matter-based financial reporting
  • Experience with legal or professional services financial platforms such as Aderant, Elite 3E, Clio, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or comparable systems
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope in a billable consulting environment
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and escalate appropriately

Competencies

  • Financial Systems Knowledge — Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or optimizing financial platforms in a professional services environment. Working knowledge of ERP systems, billing platforms, and legal-specific financial tools, including system integration patterns, data flows, and common financial reporting structures.
  • Legal Industry Expertise — Familiarity with law firm operations, matter-based accounting, trust accounting, and legal billing standards. Able to navigate the regulatory and compliance considerations common to legal financial environments.
  • Client Engagement and Communication — Builds trusted client relationships, manages expectations across diverse stakeholder groups, translates complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences, and communicates status, risks, and recommendations proactively.
  • Project and Process Management — Manages multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong attention to detail, documents current and future-state workflows clearly, and identifies risks early to keep engagements on track.
  • Growth and Accountability — Takes ownership of assigned work, seeks opportunities to deepen domain expertise, and demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a client-first mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification such as CPA, PMP, or system-specific credentials (e.g., Sage Intacct Certified Consultant, NetSuite SuiteFoundation)
  • Experience in a Big 4 or mid-market professional services firm
  • Familiarity with legal technology ecosystems, including document management, matter management, and e-billing platforms
