About the role
This position functions as the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) specialist for Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Applications (SIGMA). It serves as the MDOC recognized SIGMA Financial system expert. The position is responsible for managing accurate distribution, processing, and analysis of Time Expense Leave and Labor (TELL).
Responsibilities
- Manage accurate distribution, processing, and analysis of TELL.
- Work on departmentwide issues related to error codes.
- Lead statewide problem-solving sessions and meetings to address SIGMA issues.
- Develop SIGMA procedures specific for MDOC financial processes.
- Serve as the lead in the implementation of SIGMA Financial upgrades and training.
- Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of HRMN, SIGMA-HRM, and SIGMA-Financial.
- Ability to understand the interworking between programs and analyze posted transactions.
- High level of technical expertise requiring considerable independent judgement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including two years equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11, or one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 12, Accountant 12, or Auditor 12.
- Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) may substitute for one year of Financial Analyst P11 experience.
Skills
Requires thorough knowledge of HRMN, SIGMA-HRM, and SIGMA-Financial with the ability to understand the interworking between programs and the capability to analyze posted transactions.

Pay

Schedule
The position requires reporting in person for the first two weeks. After the initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be approved that allows work to be performed remotely up to 50% of the time with the other 50% of the work being performed in-person in Lansing. There is no option for this position to be fully remote or work to be performed in a different city/location.
