Job Description
The Michigan State Lottery is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team. Profits from lottery revenue are allocated to support Michigan’s public-school system. This position oversees advertising fund expenditures, audits procurement documents, and coordinates financial data for various requests.
About the Role
This role involves managing up to $50 million in advertising fund expenditures and ensuring proper classification and line allocation in the state-wide accounting system (SIGMA). The position also assists with financial journal entries, vendor invoices, and inter-agency payments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee management of up to $50 million in advertising fund expenditures
- Audit, analyze, and provide Procurement Budget level approval of all procurement documents in SIGMA
- Aid in the approval and release of financial journal entries in SIGMA
- Assist with vendor invoice and inter-agency payment document approvals
- Serve as a financial data coordinator for FOIA and interagency financial data requests
Requirements
- Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in these fields
- Experience: Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including two years equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11, or one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 12, Accountant 12, or Auditor 12
- Alternate Education: Possession of a CPA certificate may substitute for one year of Financial Analyst P11 experience
Qualifications
Must submit to a background check and pass a pre-employment drug test. Criminal history background checks may be required for positions within the Bureau of State Lottery.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.
