About the Role

LPL Financial is seeking motivated professionals interested in building a long-term career in financial services. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with experience in customer service, client support, banking, insurance, operations, leadership, hospitality, or other fast-paced service environments. The position involves handling inbound calls and service inquiries from financial advisors, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

This is not a traditional call center role; you will serve as the first point of contact for financial advisors, helping them navigate account questions, operational processes, technology tools, and service requests. Responsiveness, professionalism, and problem-solving skills are critical, as advisors often work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Handle 35-40 inbound calls per day from financial advisors, addressing service inquiries and operational questions.
  • Research and resolve complex service issues for advisors.
  • Navigate multiple systems and resources simultaneously to provide accurate and timely solutions.
  • Learn and apply new financial services concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Balance quality service with productivity expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to find solutions.
  • Build trust and credibility with advisors through every interaction.
  • Pursue licensing and professional development opportunities as part of long-term career growth.

Requirements

  • Interest in financial services and building a long-term career in the industry.
  • Previous customer service experience, particularly in high-end or demanding environments (e.g., service industry).
  • Ability to identify solutions quickly, take ownership of interactions, and explain complex situations clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, adaptable, and professional demeanor.
  • Motivated to learn and resilient under pressure.
  • Team-oriented with a growth mindset.

Qualifications

  • College degree and/or relevant work experience (liberal arts backgrounds are welcome).
  • SIE Certification is a plus and may qualify for higher pay but is not required.
  • Experience in roles requiring high-level customer service, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Success Factors

Successful candidates typically demonstrate:

  • Genuine interest in a long-term career in financial services.
  • Ability to learn complex information quickly and apply it effectively.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Resilience when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Professional communication skills and composure under pressure.
  • Coachability and a growth mindset.

Challenges

You might not enjoy this role if you:

  • Prefer minimal customer interaction.
  • Become easily frustrated by difficult conversations.
  • Dislike learning new systems or complex information.
  • Are looking for a role with significant downtime.
  • Prefer highly repetitive work with little problem-solving.

The learning curve is steep, with a lot to absorb in the first several months. Advisors expect quick and accurate answers, requiring continuous knowledge-building and confidence.
