About the role

The Financial Services Officer at Banc of California is responsible for opening new accounts, performing account maintenance, cross-selling bank products and services, and assisting with daily and monthly audits.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all facets of new accounts including opening, superseding, and account maintenance.
  • Research projects and order checks and notary services.
  • Assist with daily and monthly audits and certifications.
  • Prepare documentation for new accounts under the Bank's CIP/BSA and other Bank policies.
  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of legal documentation required for various entity types.
  • Comprehend and handle complex client requests independently.
  • Input new accounts on IBS and submit complete packages.
  • Provide assistance with end-of-day closing, including cash balancing (vault & ATM).
  • Process and scan daily Teller work.
  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of treasury management products and identify opportunities to cross-sell.
  • Help with the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Contribute to the branch's overall goals.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in new accounts preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Branch Banking Operations is required.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A basic understanding of Treasury Management including wire procedures and policies is required.
  • A basic understanding of all key branch systems and basic end-user knowledge of Word and Excel is required.
  • A detailed and accurate approach with the ability to organize and prioritize is required.
  • An ability to match products with client needs and establish and maintain relationships internally and externally is required.
  • An ability to articulate with confidence, respond to client questions, and communicate with other departments is required.
  • An initiative to learn and grow, stay current on new products, and take appropriate action under guidance is required.
  • An accountability for handling appropriate levels of risk and making decisions appropriate to the level is required.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
