About the role

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine agricultural and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each customer's current financial position to provide innovative and workable alternatives to solve problems in farming operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with customers to increase loan portfolio
  • Provide lending and agricultural expertise to valued customers
  • Gather financial information from customers and listen to their needs
  • Identify both expressed and latent needs to provide tailored solutions or alternatives
  • Maintain a comprehensive sales database file, ensuring all customer interactions and transactions are accurately recorded
  • Develop commitment to individual sales goals for both loans and financial services, striving to exceed targets
  • Make joint sales calls with specialists to showcase GreenStone's wide range of financial services and exceptional customer service
  • Differentiate GreenStone as the go-to organization for a variety of financial services, demonstrating commitment to exceeding customer expectations
  • Contribute to GreenStone's image as the leading financial institution through active community engagement
  • Analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests, either independently or with a Credit Analyst

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 1+ years of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry or equivalent experience in agriculture credit or closely related field

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of loan products and services and credit operations
  • Knowledge of farm production methods and products
  • General understanding of farm business management, finance, macroeconomics
  • Knowledge of various business/financial applications

Skills

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in using business/financial applications
